Kevin Coffey is a photographer drawn to places where time has left a visible mark. His work focuses on the quiet character of older buildings and landscapes, where layers of history can still be felt in the patina of materials and the traces of everyday life. Weathered storefronts, rural sheds, old factories, and forgotten corners of towns all hold a particular interest for him because they reveal something about the people and communities that once animated them.

Kevin grew up in Birmingham in the UK, once one of the world's great industrial powerhouses. Surrounded by factories, workshops, canals, and working neighbourhoods shaped by generations of industry, he developed an early sensitivity to places built through labour and time. The worn brick, darkened steel, and accumulated patina of those environments left a lasting impression and continue to shape the way he sees and photographs the world.

Now based in South Australia, Kevin is equally drawn to the sun-beaten character of the Australian landscape. Harsh light, faded paint, bleached timber, and corrugated iron softened by decades of heat and dust all create a different kind of patina. Exploring small towns, back roads, and rural landscapes, he looks for places where history still lingers in the surfaces of things. Through photography he tries to capture the quiet atmosphere of these environments and preserve small fragments of place before they slowly change or disappear.
